The flipside of the coin here is that we all become more aware of our dire needs for fossil fuels. Given these "high" prices, let's hope this impacts our behaviour and accelerates the global energy transition.
The energy transition is bound to happen. The things for the policymakers to take note:
1) We need a smoother transition instead of an abrupt, pulling-the-plugs on all phases without a proper, well-thought plan which will lead to volatility in energy price.
2) Invest in technology breakthroughs that will be able to bring down the prices of green/sustainable energy while improve its reliabiltiy and efficieny.
