I do not see the value of ordinals in BTC. There are other L1 chains that are so much better already at what people are trying to add to BTC. Some PoW, some PoS. Unless, of course, you’re a BTC maxi. Not everything needs the security guarantees of Bitcoins’ PoW.
On my land a stream may suddenly show up. If I block it or re-route it because better streams exist elsewhere, is that wise?
We don't know the life that the stream might bring to the land. Maybe it brings a herd of animals seeking water. And while initially the stream was helping the surrounding crops grow.. the animals it attracted killed the crops.
But then after some time perennial nut bearing trees start to grow. Now the stream gives the trees year round water supply... and the herd keeps the soil fertile as it comes back and forth to the water.
I could keep going on this analogy.. But the point is we shouldn't decide what the end goal is for bitcoin. Let the market figure it out... And instead, foster its growth as the environment will become more diverse and resilient as a result.
🤔 You're right. I guess the same argument could have been made about many of the things bitcoin has done that just didn't seem 'necessary.' Thanks, Ben!
